Serves Galveston Island, Santa Fe, Webster, and most of the Houston side of our service area. Enroll in Power Alert Service (text/email/voice updates tied to your ESI ID) before storm season — during Beryl-scale events the phone lines saturate but the tracker and alerts keep working.
Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP)
Electric delivery — poles, wires, meters, outage restoration
Serves the Gulf Coast mainland corridor — Texas City, League City, Dickinson, Friendswood, and La Marque. TNMP's outage map shows restoration estimates and cause; a Spanish-language text/email notification system launched in late 2025.

Natural gas distribution — mainland Galveston County cities
Suspect a gas leak? Leave the area first, then call CenterPoint's gas emergency line (listed on centerpointenergy.com) or 911. CenterPoint gas serves the mainland cities — including Dickinson, League City, Friendswood, Texas City, La Marque, Santa Fe, and Webster — which is why natural-gas standby generators are practical across most of our service area.

Galveston Island's gas utility (a ONE Gas company). Generator gas lines on the island route through Texas Gas Service's meter-set and pressure-verification process, with strict clearance rules around regulators, vents, and the electric meter.

One bill, two prices — and only one of them is a choice.
Every Texas electric bill stacks a retail energy charge (the plan you shopped on Power to Choose) on top of a regulated delivery charge from your TDU. You can switch providers any time your contract allows; the delivery charge follows your address.
Bundled residential rates across Dickinson, League City, and Galveston ran roughly 13–18¢ per kWh in the 2025–2026 shopping season, depending on plan, term, and usage.

Effective March 1, 2026, PUCT-approved delivery tariffs diverged sharply: CenterPoint's residential delivery charge dropped about 16.7% (≈5.0¢/kWh + $4.90/mo base), while TNMP's rose about 12.5% (≈7.3¢/kWh + $7.85/mo base) to fund its 2025–2027 grid-resiliency plan.
A TNMP-territory home pays meaningfully more per delivered kWh than a CenterPoint home — which makes efficiency upgrades (higher-SEER2 equipment, duct sealing) pay back faster on the TNMP side of our service area.

Utility FAQs
What's the difference between my electric provider and my electric utility?
In deregulated Texas you have both: a retail electric provider (the brand on your bill — you choose it on Power to Choose) and a delivery utility/TDU that owns the wires (assigned by address — CenterPoint or TNMP here). The provider sets the energy price; the TDU's regulated delivery charge rides on every plan identically and is who you call for outages.
Why are delivery charges different in League City than in Webster?
Different TDUs. As of the March 2026 PUCT tariff cycle, TNMP's residential delivery charge (most of League City) runs meaningfully higher per kWh than CenterPoint's (Webster) — TNMP is funding a major 2025–2027 grid-resiliency buildout. Delivery tariffs update every March 1 and September 1, so treat any figure as an as-of number.
Does a higher delivery charge change what equipment makes sense?
It changes the math. When each delivered kWh costs more, efficiency pays back faster — high-SEER2 systems, duct sealing, and smart thermostats all shorten their payback in TNMP territory. Which cities have natural gas available for a standby generator?
All of our core cities have gas distribution: CenterPoint Energy serves the mainland (Dickinson, League City, Friendswood, Texas City, La Marque, Santa Fe, Webster) and Texas Gas Service serves Galveston Island. Individual streets and rural lots can lack a gas main — where that happens, generators run on propane instead. We verify availability during a site visit.
Do I really need to call 811 before digging in my yard?
Yes — Texas law requires a Texas 811 locate at least two business days before excavation, and it's free. Generator pads, gas line trenches, and even fence posts qualify. Every Mackey install includes the locate; a shovel through a gas service line is the cheapest disaster to prevent and the most expensive to have.
